In order to encourage the purchase of electric vehicles and charging stations, federal, state and local governments are offering the following incentives.
Federal Incentives
Electric vehicles may be eligible for a federal income tax credit of up to $7,500. The credit amount will vary based on the capacity of the battery used to fuel the vehicle.

A rebate is available in the amount of $4,000 for EVs (or $1,500 for electric motorcycles) purchased after July 1, 2022. Details can be found via the Illinois EPA.
